Hello, we got 5 chickens a few weeks ago (they are 10 weeks old now) and we lost one of them last night. She was super lethargic since we got her and last night was unresponsive and didn't make it through the night (silkie). We've been keeping an eye on all our other chickens to make sure it wasn't caused by a virus or anything. All chickens, including our adults are eating, drinking, foraging etc. I've noticed poop like this in the coop and it looks the similar to the poop from our chicken that passed last night, so wanted to see if it's normal. Thank you!

Thank you for your response. I am in Canada and I don't think we have access to Corid without a vet. I just asked another chicken page I'm on to see what everyone else uses to treat Cocci as well.

do you live near by a tractor supply or your local feed store should have it if you have Amazon ability where you live you could also order it if It is cocci any sick looking chickens after 3-5 days of being mildly sick will eventually not be able to walk because of the parasite eating all their thaimene corid eats the thaimene just enough that the hen absorbs the rest before the parasite gets it (somewhat) starving the parasite

I see a bit of intestinal shedding.

Do you provide Grit (Crushed Granite) for your chicks? If not, I would.

It won't hurt to treat them for Coccidiosis. Since you are in Canada, you will need to contact a vet to get some Amprolium (Corid, Coxoid). Toltrazuril and Sulfa Antibiotics are a couple of other common treatments for Coccidiosis, your vet can do a fecal and determine which treatment is right for you.
