Hi, I have a smaller first time flock with ages ranging from 5 to 10 weeks old.
Ive noticed some of the chickens have what looks like dry legs? Some of the scales on their legs look iridescent or shiny and pale looking.
I have a dark Brahma who’s legs and feet look especially dry and I’m just not sure if it’s normal chicken feet I’m looking at or the beginnings of scaly leg mites.
most online pictures of scaly leg mites are super intense and definitely don’t look like what I have right now.
Any thoughts or suggestions?

With young chickens a lot of times when they're still growing their scales will look kind of out of place, it's because they're not fully developed yet as well as I do believe that the scales look dry because the legs are still growing and they're going to shed scales regularly!! Your birdies are perfectly fine but if it makes you a little bit more comfortable just wash their little feet and change out their bedding, it could really help!
