My buff orp girl, who is the nicest and my favorite, will peck any other chick i hold. when i say this, i mean if i pick up a chicken close to her she will peck if she can reach. i found this out on accident when i picked up a chicken and held it close to the ground for the second and she ran over and pecked it between the eyes. she and a slw i have are the oldest, but i thought for sure the slw would at the top of the p.o. i wanted to test it so i held the slw next to "honey" and watched to see if honey would peck her. she was hesitant but gentley peck the slw's back, instead a hard peck to the head. i held honey down to the slw and the slw did nothing. My point is, is my buff orp, the sweetest chicken, at the top of the pecking order?

I would guess so or she is just jealous. she might know shes your favorite and not want to let any other chicken be near you.

Yes its a good indication. A top ranking hen will often peck a low rank when the rooster is mating the lower rank.
