This egg has been like this since I got home at 3:30 this afternoon, I don't know what to do, it seems like all 7 of my Buckeye's are taking longer than my Ameracauna's . Any suggstions??
How do I do that, I have 10 more chicks piping??? Can I raise the bator top and grab that one chick?? and I have 10 that already hatched that are in the bator
Yea looks like the membrane is sticking to it i would def. jump in on that one if it got that far and the chicks seems to still be moving.I had to nursemaid a sizzle out the other day I keep a warm moist paper towel handy and go slowly never try to get an entire chick out.If there is ANY blood stop and place the egg on the moist towel and wait.if it got that far it shouldn't have any or much unabsorbed yolk.Good luck. One of our local to me members took her whole bator in the bathroom that she had steamed up with hot water from the shower when she took chicks out or had to open the bator.
I was a syringe fill with luke warm water. Moisten the membrane being carefull not to drown it. Then continue to peel the shell away, if you hit a vein, stop, moisten membrane with water and put back in the bator to wait a couple of hours before you continue on. I usually don't begin to help unless it has been at least 24 hrs. from the Intial pip. Good luck.
