Does this sound like egg eating?

I was soooo excited that my late bloomer RIR laid her first egg the other day! Today I saw her in the nest box and excitedly ran outside when she left the coop. There was an egg split in two and about 3 inches away from it what was left of the yolk and white.... sound like egg eating or it just broke?

My guess is that it just broke. Especially since it's a first egg - she could have laid it on a bit of hard ground, or it could have had a thin shell, etc. It's perfectly normal for a chicken to eat the yolk and white if an egg breaks on its own.

I'd keep an eye on her and see if it happens again.
