dog attack-broken leg?

Hello,

So I made a HUGE mistake and after working a night shift i opend the coup for the day, i went to be. My youngest dog woke me up having to go pee so i just let her outside and went back to bed for 45 min. I woke up suddenly and remembered i had the chicens out. I ran outside and I found her with the rooster, but he was ok. Unfortunatly she did kill one of my chicks and she injured anouther :*(
I Think she has a brocken leg, I have separated her from the rest of the flock but us there anything eles I can do? will she heal on her own?

If it is truly broken , straighten it and tape it up. Most likely it is a torn tendon. Which means she will put all her weight and most likely tear the other one, creating what I call a turtle. I have never been able to break this cycle.

UGH! once a killer always a killer! I have learned this from 40 or more years experience. I have had chickens since a wee child. If the chicken gets up and tries to walk I would say broke leg or muscle damage. If he does not try to walk, think intestine damage. Watch for swelling lack of appetite and water consumption.

i brought it inside to keep an eye on it. It(i don't know the sex yet) is eating well and drinking fair. It doesn't try to walk too much but it has been moving around the cage as it makes its way to the back of it(lrg dog crate) evertime i leave it be.

I've been successful in broken legs healing in finches (and they have delicate legs!) as well as a recent Coturnix Quail. I seperated them if they tolerated it, kept them on a flat surface with grippable litter (like paper towels), wrapped one that was big enough to hold a cast- the others I just made sure bones lined up. All healed fine.

my chicks leg has seemed to heel very well. I seperated her from the flock as the others were picking on her and put her in my dog crate for 2 weeks. I just yesturday intigrated her back into the coup and she is doing well. THanks for you help guys!
