I had my hens free ranging about 10 days ago when a couple of stray dogs came into the yard and attacked them. My one hen got it the worst. How she survived, is a miracle. She is doing great. One puncture wound on her back from an incisor and lots of lost feathers, but she looks great. I’ve been treating her back with vetericyn twice a day and I put blu Kote on her back so the other girls don’t pick on her. Again, she looks amazing!! However, she is not acting amazing. She has been hiding in the barn and barely goes into the run, she is eating, but very little and with coaxing. She stays to herself and doesn’t do much with the other girls. Also, no surprise, no eggs during the last 10 days. Any thoughts or suggestions??

Likely internal damage such as broken bones with extensive bruising you can not see. She is being quite to limit stress on areas healing. Give he an additional week or warm weather spell to get more active.

I was wondering about that. It’s been rainy and cold here so I figured without all her feathers she is chilly. Thank you. ❤️❤️
