I live in Moore, Oklahoma. You know, where the tornado hit? Well my house is about a mile from where the tornado hit. But anyways, I guess last night or early this morning my puppy got out and attacked my drake SoulPatch. He has a scratch on his bill, a bite towrds his but, and the flight feathers are either chewed off or something else happened. The thing is, last night we had a fludding and I had let my ducks out so they wouldn't be caught in the pen while it was flooding. My puppy stayed in all night except early this morning, when my dad let them out. SoulPatch has survived a bite just like this on his rear end, but I am not sure if he will survive this as well..

I have this spray that worked on him last time, called Vetericyn, wound and care medication.

Last but not least, his bite is still strong! I have a good bruise forming from trying to reach in and gently move him out of the dripping faucet (he's in my tub) but he bit me and won't move. His leg was injured a while back, I believe it was a sprain, but its back in full force..

What should I do..?

Sorry about all the bad weather in your area and that your duck was hurt. The sprain will need more rest from walking for a while. Vetericyn is a good product. If you see any signs of infection (bad smell, lots of pus) then injectable Penicillin sold at farm stores is best for wounds if you don't want to take him to the vet. Hopefully he won't need that though.

To avoid getting bitten you could try to gently hold his bill while picking him up and then wrap him in a towel while you treat him. Sometimes a towel over the head can calm them. Or you could try work gloves to protect your hands.

Hope SoulPatch gets better soon.
