Ok our family goes through 1-2 frisbees a month. We do not lose them they just wear out in that bitey bitey grab hold and tug mouth.

The original Whammo ones have great flight characteristics but wear out fast. ~US $8-

The Kong versions are highly durable but fly like stones my dog isn't fast enough to catch it or I just need to prune more trees. ~US $15-

To date the best one we have found at Wallyworld is the SoftEdge Flying Disk- Excellent flight characteristics relatively durable, but does warp out of round by the 3 week mark affecting flight. ~US $10-

Has anyone found a good dog training frisbee? That is not overly weighted like frisbee golf ones causing potential blunt force injuries that they enjoy with their pups? The dog insists on a minimum of 5 frisbee sessions daily.

I haven't found one yet that lasts.
I decide to keep buying the frisbees or when they are on sale, I'll stock up and keep them in the closet. It is like Christmas every time I pull out a new frisbee.

Old thread but I use three frisbees: The red rubber Kong, the green Nerf and a cheap old red hard plastic with a hole in the middle from Pet Smart that ROLLS 30 yards +. My Mal LOVES the red rubber Kong and at first she went through them as mentioned here - but I trained her to drop them after the catch so we have been on this current batch for more than 4 months. I use all three at the same time for variety. When she's fresh from kennel, she will run 40+ yards like the fur missile she is, missile strike it, then she lays down and waits. I then throw the soft nerf straight at her and she launches her missile self at it HARD and catches it line-drive style while running straight towards me. It's like throwing baseball with a kid. LOL It took a few months - but she will now leave both feet and has done some spectacular competition style catches. I walk briskly all over the property gathering the frisbees, which I see as healthy for me too, just to keep up with her. She likes chasing down the hard cheap red frisbee as it rolls for variety, and man can she hit it HARD. We develop all sorts of our own little "games" with our bond for each other and I cannot say enough how much I love this dog. She's laying here right now with me as it rains. She wears herself out in cold weather in about a half hour to 45 minutes and in warmer weather, she's done in 15-20 minutes. Then, she's good to go, ZERO behavior issues and I take her everywhere with me. She loves people and is happy to have been rescued from the shelter I found her. Can you believe that? A 1-1/2 year old Mal at a shelter.......Best $85.00 I have EVER spent. She's gotten so good I'm thinking about joining a club or something to see how she would fare against other dogs because this girl can run a frisbee down at 50+ yards no problem when she is fresh. It's truly BEAUTIFUL to watch and the neighbors often come out just to watch her perform.
