I have a small dog that has tested positive for Clostridium twice now, and i am wondering if he could have gotten it from being in the backyard with my chickens? Does anyone know anything about this? I don't want to mention to my vet that we have chickens because I don't know how they will react. Thanks!

Clostridia is not species specific. I have seen it infect calves, pigs, chickens, goats, sheep, turkeys, wild birds, and people. Wash your hands and you will be fine.

I misread your post. You said clostridium and for some reason I read it as cryptosporidia. Your dog has clostridium what? Clostridia live in the soil. Depending on what variety clostridia determines what it can cause. Clostridium tetani causes tetanus. Clostridium perfingens causes entertoxemia in goats. Clostridium botulinum causes botulism. To say the dog tested positive for clostridia doesn't narrow it down much.
