Dog House Coop

Bought this dog house: http://www.petco.com/product/107694/WAR … ses-107694 It is size medium and I do wish that I had bought large. Anyhow, I have 4 chicks right now. The average weight is supposed to be around five pounds. How could I make a chicken coop from this dog house? Any runs that I can make to attach to this? Oh and what do you think of me using this dog house? How should I ventilate it better? Any suggestions are appreciated!!

I think you're right that the large (or even extra-large) would be a better size for 4 chickens. The medium is only about 6 sq. feet. I'd go with the extra-large. Are you planning on locking the chickens in the coop at night, or are you going to have a secure run? That will determine whether you need a pop door to close or not. You could cut a hole under the eaves near the peak and cover that with hardware cloth for ventilation. Good luck!
