Hey guys!
Right now i am using a empty Dog Kennel for my chicken roost and coop. I absolutely HATE doing this because I am a "Neat" person and like things to be done properly, but due to money, I cannot as of now.
I started with 4 Hens and 1 Rooster. Then things got big. Now, somehow, lol I have a total of 17 chickens all together including 2 roosters that I know of.
The ground is starting to get sloppy and I have noticed alot of mosquitoes on the ground. I extended the coop with other panels and they are free range, so only in the coop at nightfall.
What can I do to fix it up, get rid of the slop (it has a roof, i believe water is coming from the hill) and make it look nicer? (lol)

Please voice your opinions and thank you!

use a few 6x6 timers to divert the water away from the coop
the only thing I can think of for mud cover it with a good amount of sand this will give you a nice bed of sand keeping you out of the mud
to make it nicer picts would help

Picture would really help us to understand what you're dealing with.
What is the dimension of the kennel?
Minimum is 4sq ft per chicken in a coop & 10sq ft per in a run = harmony in the flock
You could do as mountain chicken suggested build up the ground with sand & try diverting the flow of water. IF the kennel is their coop, you have a roof on top, do you have the sides covered to block the rain & wind?

This is my version of Chicken House (8 x 12 x 7) ... My girls are not allowed to free range, I live in a residential area & neighbor has too many dogs. I hang shower curtains on EMT rods that I use to close up when rain & wind. I built up the sides to do DLM with shavings. Keep adding shavings ... Got a poop board with PDZ below the roost above the nest (dog house).
