Has anyone tried using the large metal dog runs for chickens? I was thinking of using a 6 ft dog run for my polish chickens and making an enclosed brooder area inside. I got a little carried away with chicken math and I'm hoping to get more chicks soon.

It works if you don't have chicks - only for older birds, unless you line it with a wire that has smaller holes. Don't forget an animal-proof top...hawks, coons, etc....
Have fun!

I have a 4x4 and a 7x13 that I use for quarantine/broody/growout pens. Just make sure to cover the bottom couple of feet with hardware cloth or chicken wire so the raccoons can't reach thru the chainlink and grab your chooks. I have an apron around mine as well.

Thanks for the advice. This run/coop would be for my polish that are between 3 and 5 months old.
