i have one of those out-door dog runs(the cage thingy) and it is slightly bent. if i were to patch it with hardware cloth, would that work?(dont worry , the roof is covered)
I sure hope so, 'cause that's basic'ly what I'm using.
My fiancee's house used to be a dog groomer and kennel. It has an out-building with pens inside and fenced-in runs outside. We put chicken wire along the bottom of the fence, buried in at least half-a-foot. We also patched up the corners with more chicken wire because the gaps were big enough to let smaller animals through.
Here's a pic...
I sealed the door on the right with chicken wire. I built the new door on the left to seal better. We put plastic bird netting over the whole thing.
I have one I use. You just have to make sure you put hardware cloth or something around it. I've lost ducks from mine when I didn't have it reinforced with wire - critters reach through and pull them out. Also make sure critters can't dig under it.
