My dog was fine last night but this morning he vomited up something black, and it kinda looked like there was pieces of old bedding in it... I think he might've gotten into some old duck bedding that I had in a big black trash bag (hes attracted to poop)... He was wobbly and he almost puked a second time... He hasn't drank any water since it happened, and hasn't left the bed (but to go the bathroom)... am I overreacting? Can duck poop hurt him?

Picture below is what he puked up...

He hasn't really eaten his kibble, but he was able to eat some pizza crust... and I think he finally drank some water, but just a little bit... but hes mostly urinated and not pooped... he doesn't seem to have diarrhea... I just feel so worried about him because he's still kinda wobbly....

Okay, good... That's what I was worried about... I've been trying to keep an eye on him to make sure it doesn't get worse...

It may be a blockage. Ny dogs always manage to find some duck poop, but mold could hurt a dog.

I would recommend taking him to a vet if he is wobbly.

Thanks for the advice... if he doesn't feel better in a day or two, I'll take him to a vet... I'll also keep an eye on his poop too... I'll keep trying to get him to drink water to try to help keep him from getting dehydrated...

Can duck poop hurt him?

Speaking generally, I don't think there is a high chance of adverse effects subsequent to ingestion of the duck fecal matter, but depending on the bacterial population in the duck's feces, the type of bacteria, and the dog's current state of health, there could very well be potential side effects in some cases.

As some of the other members pointed out, a blockage would be a more prominent concern, as bedding can easily become compacted in the gastrointestinal tract, and can desiccate the intestinal membrane. I've found good success using milk of magnesia in mild cases of constipation with dogs. A trip to a veterinarian would be good if possible.

My dog is obsessed with eating duck poop, and I have asked his vet if it is an issue. He has said no, it is not a concern. So I wouldn't be worried about the duck poop alone.

Like others have said, the indigestible material is a concern. That can be a life threatening emergency. Vomiting and not eating are signs that you should go to the vet.
