My dominant hen (she's a 2 year old dominique) had a bad time with a mite infestation I had a little over a month ago. Her comb and face was very pale. She survived thankfully, her comb has turned pink, but all the other hens combs are in various stages of red and seem to be about ready to lay. So I was wondering, can the dominant hen not being ready to lay yet keep the others from laying?

I have read studies indicating the a dominant rooster can suppress testosterone levels in subordinates, but have never read anything indicating that a dominant hen can affect hormone levels in subordinates. I doubt that her compromised health is stopping the other hens from laying.
