OK bought a house with some room
started thinking about fresh eggs
thanks byc for the ideas will post pics soon
built a tractor w/a large doghouse and run w/ cattle panel
Then went to flea market and bought two 7month dominikers hens I thought
Well one is a cock or cockrell whats the differance?
Should I take the roo back for a hen or just get another hen
Looking for about 2 eggs a day

You're not going to get 2 eggs/day with one hen. A cockerel is a male under a year, a cock/rooster is a male over a year.

By Dominikers, do you mean Dominiques? Or are they Barred Rocks or Cuckoo Marans? They are all similar looking. You may need another pullet (egg laying female under 1 year of age).

If you are wanting 2 eggs a day then get 2 more pullets. They take a break from laying at least once a day every week. And I would keep the rooster but if you don't want to hatch eggs and don't like the sound of roosters crowing, then get rid of him.

Dangerchic I dunno what they are, he called em Dominickers, heck Icouldnt tell a Rooster from a hen
So off to do some more research
If you have any links to the difference it would be appreciated

Haha We were thinkin about names and came up w/ Minnie and Pearl
Guess I should change his name to Earl
