I have four Dominique chicks one of them is a lot lighter than the others does this have anything to do with the sex of the birds or is it just lighter than others?
Thanks--PWF

I believe the darker chicks are pullets. Another way to tell is by their leg color. I think the pullets have black on the front of their legs and the roos are yellow. I may have that backwards, but I think that's right.

Yes, as the feathers come in, the male will have more light barring and the females will have darker barring. Not all females will get dark shading on the fronts of the legs, and males can get it too, so this is not a reliable method of sexing.

YAY! I have three dark ones and one light one
