I have 6 very different chicks I want to ask about but I'll start with my favorite and the one I am most worried about being a roo. We were told this was a Dominique, and I'd love that confirmed too. S/he's about 4 or 5 weeks old so I don't know if that is too early.

Whatcha think?

Sorry, that's the best I could do taking pictures myself while my hubby was at work today. We're only about 2 weeks into this chicken thing so I'm a total newbie. Let me know if you need other pictures, I can try to accommodate.

that looks like a cuckoo maran to me...the comb is right for a dominique, but I've never seen one with feathered legs, maybe it is a mix?

Oh and s/he definitely could be a mix - the people that we got them from have all 30 of their birds together so who could tell. They have Doms, Americaunas, Araucanas, Buff Orpingtons, Silkies, New Hampshire, RI Reds, & White Plymouth Rock.

none of those would lend feathered feet to the mix except the silkie and I'm not seeing any sign of that. Do they have any Brahmas or Cochins?

It is not a Dominique. Looks like a cross to me. That is a pea comb--Doms have rose combs and of course, they do not have feathered shanks. And it is most definitely a cockerel, sorry.
