Dominique VS. Barred Rock

Ok, this is probably a silly question but us being people owned by new chickens we've found a local advert selling Dominique and Barred Rock chickens. I looked them up and they seem very much the same. Is there much of any major difference in the two breeds? Is one more preferred over the other? Is one more friendly than the other, etc. I need answers, lol Thanks!

They have different combs, different body type, different size & actually different colouration. Preference is just that, some prefer one, some the other. Since friendliness isn't something that concerns me I can't speak to that.

My Dominique hen is my favorite chicken I own. I've had both BR and Dominique roosters and they both were wonderful protectors that gave their lives to save the flock. They were both friendly to me, never flogged and good to their hens.
