Dosing help with Tylosin PLEASE

I have four one year old Barred Rock hens that I just finished five days of Denagard with. During the Denagard I noticed some improvements, but the issues are representing within two days. I have Tylosin 20mg tablets. How long should I wait before administering after Denagard, and how many should I give a 5lbs bird?

All that said, I have a Denegard, Tylan200, and Safeguard at my disposal.

No coughing, sneezing, mucus, etc, but one of the girls had a bloody nose, another I suspect she may have. So I’m concerned with ILT. All four were gaping and acting lethargic. My dominant hen was roosting in the run, but kept tucking her head under her wing to sleep; all had fairly pale combs. I started them on Denagard around lunch.

Checked a little bit ago and spirits all seem up, head shaking is down, and no gaping for the :30 minutes I sat with them. I’m guessing their reaction to Denagard rules out my initial thought about gapeworm, but it also makes me question; is ILT treatable with Denagard?

Please post some photos of the birds and their housing and a video of their actions (breathing difficulty?) Upload video to youtube and provide a link.

You want to know about Tylosin 20mg tablets (photo of the product and it's label please), but then you mention Tylan200 in your other thread. What do you have?

Denagard is used to treat symptoms of Mycoplasma Gallisepticum (MG). Tylan/Tylosin is commonly used to treat symptoms of MG.
If you gave the correct dose of Denagard and saw only some improvement, then you may not see improvement with Tylosin. Just sayin'

You fear ILT. ILT is a virus. An antibiotic may help with secondary infection, but ILT is not "treatable". Here's some reading for you https://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/publication/ps044

Blood on a nostril can be from a number of things. Did you examine her for any injury?

Here are two photos of their housing and the most recent photo of them. I haven’t been able to catch any videos of them gaping, or head shaking. You can see their combs are lovely red, but usually mid morning I’ll check in to find them slightly pale. The coop has two electric vent fans pulling air, the coop has a large overhead fan, hemp bedding inside currently, large pine chips down, concrete floor in the run that gets cleaned daily.

The bleeding I believe I figured out. My wife had separated one of the girls to give some treats. It appears the injury occurred during this time. No blood since. I have both Tylosin 20mg tablets and Tylan 200. I decided to wait on using both considering everything I’d read in support of Denagard.

My wife and I have been sitting with them periodically over the past week and it’s literally so wild that I’ll spot the head shaking and gaping randomly and then spend :30 minutes with them and never see another sign. She swears she hasn’t seen them doing anything odd until tonight when the one hen was aggressively shaking her head. Checked her ears and no signs of any issues.

Do they have access to dirt for dust bathing?

Shaking the head and gaping can be a number of things...adjusting the crop, if it's when they have been eating/drinking a little water/feed in the nostrils, etc.
If it's just random then I would observe more and see if an activity they are doing is related.

If it were respiratory illness, the symptoms would be consistent.

Combs color can change throughout the day. Especially when hens are in lay. Likely turning a little pale they have or are getting ready to lay their egg. Especially if the comb eventually turns back red later in the day.

They do, minus DE. Every time I’ve made a new batch with DE I’ve noticed gaping, coughing, and sneezing more. I think they’re just too sensitive to it. I was around them a good portion of the day today working on my barn and I didn’t notice much of anything. I installed a little misting fan and gave them frozen melon and they were energetic and happy all day. Lord only knows.
