The egg method is unreliable, could you post pictures of the “hen” and describe the behaviors? Also how old is she?Hi there
I'm pretty sure my hen is a hen, but is acting like a roo. But just to double check, these eggs are not fertilised right? They are infertile?
Cheers!!

She looks to be a hen, as you have said. No male specific feathering, normal comb and wattles. If the behavior you are reddening to is just her mounting other hens, this happens, it is a show of dominance.Hello
See attached pic. Im not actually sure how old Ursula is, I got her at an auction about 10 months ago. She seems older and also maybe doesn't lay anymore, haven't seen her in the nest box.
You have no rooster? Those eggs sure look fertile to me!Hi there

If you have any newer birds, they can hold sperm for a surprising amount of time in some cases. If not it may just be a weird looking egg spot (I forget the name sorry)Hello

Oh interesting! How long? I got these birds in April this year, that seems very long time!If you have any newer birds, they can hold sperm for a surprising amount of time in some cases. If not it may just be a weird looking egg spot (I forget the name sorry)
Ok great thanks for the confirmation! She looks to be a hen, as you have said. No male specific feathering, normal comb and wattles. If the behavior you are reddening to is just her mounting other hens, this happens, it is a show of dominance.
I think that would be too long, I’ve seen stuff on here for a couple months, which is in its self surprising, as it is normally only a few weeks. Probably just some odd eggs. If you want to do a little experiment, and see if they are really fertile, you could stick them in an incubator for a short time, and see if any veins develop. I doubt they would, but if you are into that you could.Oh interesting! How long? I got these birds in April this year, that seems very long time!
