Double whammy

Hello! I’m not sure what breed or gender this is. Can someone help? I have no idea what age it is either. It is VERY friendly. I suspect it is a black Orpington but that is just my closest guess. It’s about a third the size of my full grown California grey hens.

That’s a hen. You can tell by the big eyes and by the look of it, it’s kinda small, which usually shows if it’s a hen or rooster.

Without knowing it's age it's hard to tell, it looks fairly young so having that much red and larger comb and wattles would point to it being a cockerel.

I'm unsure on the breed.

If I had to guess, probably a black Australorp. As for the gender, without knowing the age, you'll probably have to wait and see

Same. Australorps have the black legs (and I'm not positive Orpington's do). They're also ridiculously friendly and lay a nice amount of eggs!
