An old timer once told me years ago that after the molt is when you can most expect to see double yolkers. Does anyone know if there`s any truth in that theory ?

Yep, tis true double yolkers are more likely to happen when chooks first start laying,
either initially as a pullet or after a molt, brooding or any other reason that might have caused cessation of lay.

Thanks Flock master, that old-timer was my late Dad and I was hoping he was right. My in-laws live next door to me with a small farm and their hens are molting right now. I told her we might see some doubles when they resume their regular laying habits. She said she`d never heard that one before so that made me curious. I appreciate your input.
