Down to 3 (or 5)

Out of 6 bantam brown leghorn eggs, I had 2 blood rings and 3 empties. 1 looks great, veins and dancing embryo and all.

Out of 8 EE eggs, I had 4 empties, 2 browns that APPEAR empty but are still in the bator (I could be wrong), and 2 greens that look ok. Ok? Heck, I can't even see into them. I see an air cell in each, but apparently my LED light just isn't strong enough to do the job. Or maybe I'm just blind.

HOPEFULLY I will reach day 21 with at least 3 (or 5) chicks hatching.

Does anyone else have these abysmal numbers going on?

I only got 12 eggs of 41 out of my first hatch.

For a great candling light, go to Home Depot...buy the LED Lenser... a bit pricey at $50 but, it goes through dark Maran eggs.

also it is easier to see if you candle through the top/air sack as it helps spread the light into the egg

I only got two out of twelve.

And day 21 on my 18 in the bator and nothing yet! Hopefully I will get something. My luck has not be the greatest so far either. I have thrown away at least 24 eggs so far. My bator used to be full!
