I have 5 16 weekers, and 2 11 weekers that are all integrated. One of the 11 weekers is obviously lowest in the flock. She's not pecked, but hangs about 6 feet away from everyone else. She gets along well with Nutmeg (the other 11 weeker) but is scared to death of the others.
Due to death (looks pretty darn bad right now) I'm about to just have one 6 week Australorp. What to do with her?
I have a big coop and a fenced run. The older flock is in the coop at night and free ranges all day. The two small ones were in the house at night and in a makeshift coop (old doghouse with a small wired run) as weather permitted to let them get used to the outdoors and other chickens.
I think the 6 weeker could manage the temperatures outside, but can she sleep by herself in the big coop if I partition a side? Then put the 3 youngest in the run during the day? I'm so sad that my buckeye is ill
Figure I should decide what to do ahead of time, just in case.
