Downed Hen

Hi I not really sure what is going on with her. She will not roost, walk or even sometimes eat. Her bottom feathers are all gone and her stomach feels really liquidy. I pressed her stomach in and it felt watery nothing hard inside. Her poop is really green. I am concern as most ould be not only because i have new chicks in the coop with her but I just do not want to loose her when I could have helped. Any suggestions? Thanks for your time and trouble.

How old is she? How long has this been going on? (could help determine what is going on with your lady)

I personally haven't encountered this, so may not be the best of help... but I know electrolytes could help provide nutrients and whatnot... I would try that... I am sure someone else will respond here with some more helpful tips.

She is only about two years old. As far as I know she started this last Monday about 4 days. I will try see if she will take some electrolites. thanks

Look up EYP. Egg Yolk Periotinitis. It sounds like what could be going on with your hen.

she was put down this morning She could not stand on her own and was not drinking or eating.
