I have a 4-5 month old Cayuga drake who has been trying to show hows boss but I just feed them cracked corn, and he started eating out of my hand; which is not out of the norm. But he started shaking his head, it was more of a quiver. Then he ran up on me and pecked me. It was random, idk if it was because there was extra noise because of school being let out and dogs were running around. Anyone know what that’s about?

is he your only duck?

He is reaching sexual maturity and hormones are high. He may be imprinted on you and think that you are his mate.
Yup you are correct he did it today again. He was trying to jump on me, and because I kept pushing him away he went and did his business with his female.

I plan on getting more next season. When we expand the coop, idk if I want to order some or just get them from tractor supply
I'd order, tractor supply's ducks are straight run so you very well may end up with quite a few more drakes. If you order from a hatchery you can order all females and chances are high that you will indeed have all females

Any hatchery that you suggest?

I have personally used Meyer when I ordered chicks and was very happy with my experience. People here also like meltzer (I may be mispelling it) for waterfowl such as ducks. I think you can't go wrong with either option
