Don't think he'll be able to be with the hens. getting him a mate if it turns out to be a drake would be best for him instead of being lonely. of course you can always give him or her the option of leaving since it was wild to begin with, I believe? once fall migration starts it would find a mate of it's own.

I am going saturday to look at some more ducks for the two that I have. Funny thing about these two pekins, one pretty much is quiet unless they are alerting for food, or something they see. Out of the 2 one talks more. I was hoping one was a female and one a male.

When I started with dogs years ago, I researched the living daylights out of the breeds. Who wouldathunk that there was so much to know about ducks!
You'll start seeing mating behavior around 4-5 months so not very far away for your 2, from all I've read about Pekins they are really amorous but not quite sure when they are sexually mature with my Muscovy's that hatched in Summer of 2011 they weren't sexually active until spring of 2012. But saying that my only drake who was raised in the house because of rejection really wanted to mate with me a lot sooner.
