I was pretty convinced that this duck was a female, but after watching "her" try to mate another female, I'm starting to think I had it all wrong."She" doesn't make a lot of noise at all compared to my others drakes or hen.

What a gorgeous duck!

I have all girls, and they mount each other all the time - lol!

I agree with @sourland. You should be able to voice sex. Pick up the duckie and walk away from the others. If it quacks or honks, you've got a girl. If it makes a raspy, breathy sound, you've got a boy.

:welcome How old is the bird? There is no drake curl, but bird appears old enough that you should be able to voice sex it. Hens will mount other hens - especially in a pool or pond. Water is like an aphrodisiac to them.
I got them on April 1st, so at least 4 months old. But that might be in then! I had just cleaned out their pond so it was all exciting.

This one doesn't talk very often, only small little chirps every now and then. And I just can't tell. All my others are so noisy but of course not this one. Haha

Thank you! She was my special pick that I had to have. Haha

I did pick her up and take her away and she was only slightly more talkative but she's definitely not raspy like the boys. You guys set my mind at ease that maybe it was just the excitement of the pool being cleaned.
