is it possible to keep more than one drake? My brother-in-law wound up with three drakes that he rescued as ducklings and they are fighting like crazy. I have a total of 11 ducks. Most are still youngsters and not old enough to tell. I love them all and I would like to keep them if I could. But I don't want to go through that terrible fighting. I don't really have the ability to separate.

Well 2-3 per is the usual recommendation for ratios. I have 2 drakes that are mature, but they do fight now & again, i also separate them at night to reduce conflict in confined places.

Their are 9 ducks to go with them, mind you one little lady is only 9wks old lol i am adding another two ducks(actually Buffs) soon too but as ducklings so they can blend in with the flock.

You can have bachelor flocks but many drakes creates conflict, i have had many here.. last year, i had 10 plus the three mature ones... lost one mature and one juvie to a neighbours dog and the other 8 were sold they were from the last hatch of the season. Chaos is what all that brings, when their are ducks to gain the boys attention they will argue, fight and one up themselves to gain them.
