Trish of the Coop
Songster
So a little over a year ago, we had to put my little dog down after 15 years. I was absolutely devastated. I wasn't ready for another dog but I still wanted an animal. Friend of mine suggested that I get chickens, I wasn't really sure about the whole idea but I agreed to it.
In my usual fashion I did everything completely backward, I got the two girls, ran to the store and bought a coop, and then lastly built them a run. It was in my opinion really nice it had everything they needed and they were spoiled.
Shortly after that the same friend took me to a bird auction and I bought this tiny scruffy-looking little black Pullet. So now I'm up to 3 chickens, 1 small coop, and a reasonable run. My little tiny black chicken got very big very quick, and I started noticing things about the run and the coop that I no longer found convenient, mostly the fact that it was only about three feet high and I am at least 5 on a good day.
So I posted a few questions on here asking about what people liked and disliked about their coop, took into consideration our climate and animals we have around. I spent a couple months drooling over some of the people on here and the Coops they have. I talked to my hubby and my father about what I kind of things I envisioned for my coop.
They spent two full weeks and I helped on the weekends and I have a new coop that is so much better then I could ever imagined possible. It's not as big fancy as some of them but it's exactly how I pictured it would be.
The girls turned out to be one of the best things I ever did and I'm just too excited about my new coop could not share it. The B'N'B - the Butt Nugget Barn.
