Hello I’m new here so bare with me, I recently added a few ducks and a pair of geese to my chickens, I set up a 500gallon pond for them to swim in and I keep lots of buckets of fresh clean water that I change out every day or so. The pond water gets pretty dirty with poop real fast since they all hang out there most of the time and I know they drink out of it, but they always have fresh water to drink out of the buckets, will the dirty pond water be unhealthy for them or any ideas on how often I should change the pond water? Anyone use a filter pump for there pond and does it work well? Thanks in advance

I give my ducks a swimming pool and plenty of fresh water in different places throughout the yard. They get their swimming pool so nasty, but guess where they drink from 99% of the time? The pool! My boys have been just fine drinking from their nasty pool. Ducks kind of do their own thing whether you want them to or not :lau

My experience is 100% the same. I use three kiddie pools for our 9 ducks and 2 geese, and all have fresh clean water available, and many (and the chickens) seem to prefer the pool water.

I empty the kiddie pools every day...they get pretty nasty. I have them set up in a location where when I tip them up, the water goes out of the run and into a raised bed full of mint and a few other perennial herbs. The plants seem to really like the foul (from the fowl) water too.

Look for a dirty water pump. They are hard to find.. I got mine by a local pond supply dealer

I'm using a 130 filter system for my small pond. My ducklings are just turning 5 weeks tomorrow. Today was thier second day outside. So far they haven't used it.
My goal is to only replace 50 gallons a week and that will be use to water trees
