Drool?

My chickens are having a rough time in Texas right now. It is over 101. I am providing water, fans, ice, watermelon and electrolytes. But now one of my chickens has a discolored stain on the front of her, like she has been drooling down the front. She picks at it and so does my other chicken. Is this normal. I can find nothing about this discoloration. She is eating, laying eggs and squawking up a storm. Has this happened to anyone else? Thanks.

Check her crop first thing in the morning. She might be suffering from sour crop or impacted crop. If she is just leaking water out of her mouth from drinking so much in the heat, you might want to spray her with a little BluKote so they won't peck her.
