I have a 4 month old white crested black polish chicken who is droopy she looks very healthy i have checked her over for mites cant find anything and her poop is normal I think ive looked all in the coop of 5 other cresteds and dont see any different poop she has to be put in the coop every night she falls asleep under the ramp going into the coop and everyday I have to make her go out she will stay in all day and sleep if you dont she is getting worse each week but still looks healthy she is getting to the age of laying and about 2 weeks ago we changed all there food to scratch and layer but she was this way before now is just worse no one else is like this do you thinks is worms. Im new to chickens I got these from mcmurry 4 months ago everyone else looks good.

My guess -- and that is all it is -- is that if she's been like this a while and it was because of worms, they would all have them, so you would be seeing symptoms in the others, as well. These crested breeds sometimes seem to need special vitamins, and I don't know enough to tell you which ones. Layer and scratch have less protein than starter or grower, and scratch should only be given in small amounts as treats. A little live culture yogurt and organic ACV in the water is always good for them, as is some cooked egg. You could start with some infant liquid vitamins without iron from the drug store. And maybe do some searches on here. People seem to be having trouble with polish this year.

Good luck.

Thanks for the response I got the vitamins a couple of days ago and started that, but just once a day ive been searching other post and they say 3 times a day so im going to move it up and give her more I think ill try the boiled egg tonight and see if she gets better with that. She has been real (squalky) dont know how else to put it the last week im wondering if it also dosent have something to do with the fact she will start laying soon. She is about 4 1/2 months old now. Thanks again for the response

eyes are clear no sneezing just sleepy. Ive been checking her eyes and the sneezing thing for a couple of weeks worried but nothing she sure gets mad at me when i lift feathers to check her eyes. so there is still some energy enough for that.
