As I was exiting my coop I had an egg in one hand and a water bucket in the other and of course i had a few hens trying to escape out into the cold. In my efforts to stop them I dropped the egg and all the chickens rushed over and started eating it before I could do anything. Now I'm worried that they will start to eat there own eggs. What do you guys/gals think? Should I be worried? Thanks, Justin.

I wouldn't. I dropped one the other day and my chickens did the same thing. They move a lot faster than me LOL I haven't had any issues and all eggs are still intact in the nests.

No it won't turn them into egg eaters. I've dropped more than my share and while they rush to eat any egg that oozes they have not eaten intact eggs out of the nest.
