I have several antibiotics but the only ones that are still good per "use by" date are cipro. and amoxicillin trihydrate....trying to help prevent infection in a peacock from some bad wounds per a peacock fight.
I "think" perhaps cephalexin may be a good drug of choice but sigh...I have none.
Any advice appreciated,
I think I can pull him through it ok if I stay on top of the situation and medicate correctly...he has some fairly deep gashes/spur wounds though. ( no, I don't have a vet I can take him to )
Topical treatment has been started (wounds cleansed, 3 x antibiotic oinment and granulex applied.
I know how to dose birds , just want to know if anyone can suggest the best ORAL antibiotic for this particular situation and the dosage needed for a full grown peacock.
Thanks !
