Hey guys!
I have a couple questions. My two ducklings are healthy, growing fast and about 10 days old.

1. They have flaky skin on their legs. Is this normal?

2. When is a good time to start giving them treats? And what kind?

3. When should I stop offering them food 24/7? And what should the meals times be/how often?

4.I can’t keep them into adulthood so I’m giving them to a hobby farmer friend who is familiar with bird care. I’m wondering how many weeks old they should be before I let them go to her farm. They’ll probably be kept in a stall for a bit but after that probably free reign. I’m thinking 4 weeks? Is that too young?

Thanks!

Welcome to BYC! :frow

1. Could you post a picture?

2. I like to wait after a week or so, ducklings seem to enjoy pea's, mealworms, lettuce and tomatoes the most. Here is a list of safe treats for ducklings.

Just remember not to feed them more than 10% of their diet, grit should also be provided is a small separate dish on the side so they can break down the fibrous material.

3. There is no need to limit their feed intake.

4. I would wait till they have their adult feather in, around 6-8 weeks.
