I've got a few sheets of drywall that I've been tripping over for a few years and I'd like to get rid of it. What do you guys/gals think about using drywall for the interior wall partitions of my coop? Are there any issues. Is this a bad idea? Should I just bite the bullet and buy some more OSB or plywood?

IMHO drywall won't be durable enough. Chickens would probably peck at it, and once they got thru the paper, they would be pecking at the gyp. I like to use extra material too, but sometimes it doesn't work out.

Do not get drywall, they dont stand up to humidity factor nor the chicken's breathing vapor in the wintertime.

Just bite the bullet and get plywood or vinyl sheets.

My chickens peck and eat drywall. Don't ask how I know. (Disclaimer, I am not the one who put it there

I suppose you could use it above chicken-pecking level... but because it tends to retain moisture I'd not use it unless I had to. If you do use it, for sure paint it REALLY WELL to seal it.

Good luck, have fun,

Pat

Thank you all,

I went and bought the extra OSB and used that for the interior partitions. Thanks for all the responses.
