Dual purpose chickens

I have recently purchased 2 buff Orpingtons and 2 Rhode Island reds and I was wondering if the buff Orpingtons are a good breed for meat producing? I have heard that the RIR are good dual purpose birds and I was hoping that the same goes for the buff Orpingtons. Any info would be greatly appreciated

X2 on that. BOs are a wonderful breed; beautiful, hardy, friendly and gentle (my children and granddaughter made lap pets of them), and good layers of large brown eggs. I think you'll be very happy with the Buff Orpingtons. )
