Dual purpose roo's

We have 4 8-9 week old barred rock roo's that are destined for the table.

They're pretty small, would I be better keeping them away from the layers and getting them some high protein feed. Or just hang in there and leave it to nature

I'd also love to know the answer to this question. I have two 6-week-old Dominique cockerels and want to make sure I'm feeding them correctly for future freezer camp.
