D'uccle Rooster Limping

He started limping yesterday, I don't think it is broken because he tends to put a little bit of weight on it but not much, when he sits he curls the toes on the hurt foot. I have a video of him limping:
And this picture, he toes look kind of lumpy on the bottom and there are some red spots on the scales. Is it leg mites?

Can you move the joints? Did you feel the leg all over? I can't really see anything bad in that picture. I'm wondering if he hasn't just strained himself. Chickens do panic and run around like crazy sometimes. If it's the hip area, there isn't much you can do. Maybe try putting him in a clean cage with food and water, where he can rest for a few days. Maybe he's just bruised himself. Scaly leg mites do get under the scales and cause irritation, but you will see crusty stuff too.

Yes I realized that the crusty looking stuff was his dirty feathery stubs where he pulled his feathers out. Would it be better if I got a picture of the joint? It looked a bit bigger than the other one.
*EDIT* He has been i the cage with just his girls for two days since he started limping. How long should I wait before being concerned that it is something more?

You mean the knee joint? If you compare it to the other, then it could be swollen. Does the knee still move? It might just be a sprain. I would definitely confine with food and water in a nice, calm place that is sheltered so that he can rest that....

How is he doing? Our D'Uccle Rooster starting limping about a week ago. He eats and drinks fine too, and gets around pretty good considering, just quite the limp. Nothing visible on our guy either.

I realize this is an old post but I'm wondering if you ever found anything or if your birds got better. I have a porcelain d'uccle that is having these symptoms with his left leg and I don't see anything wrong. But I'm a worried Momma he's only about 12 weeks. Please help.

We never learned anything. Our rooster only got worse. It was about three months, and he just couldn't move anymore. Wish we could have done something to help him, or had a vet around here that could help.

Oh gosh that's horrible I'm sorry for your loss. Have you heard of anyone else having this problem? Is it something genetic in d'uccles? Was it mareks? I really don't want to think about losing our "Blue" but if its mareks I don't want our other birds being infected. It's been about a week maybe a bit more and he can use the leg and there's no sign of injury that's visible. I had at first thought one of the other chickens had just stepped on his foot feathers and he was sore. He still roosts and scratches and eats and drinks, but occasionally I see him standing with his left leg held up and he has a limp most of the time when walking.

I watched the video posted by SuburdSpurs and our cockeral's limp is not so severe and sometimes it's almost imperceptible. Do you mind if I ask where you're located and where you got your affected bird from? We are in southern WI and got Blue from tractor supply this spring, but they get chicks from two different hatcheries, so I have no way to know which he came from.
