Are people still interested in Mille D'Uccles?

I don't hear much about them on this forum.
I guess there not a practical chicken since they don't offer much in the way people use there birds.

I love mine! I have three adults, just hatched 9 babies and have 16 more eggs in the bator. One of the hens just went broody over the weekend as well and when I checked her yesterday has four under her... What I'm going to do with them all, I have no idea, I just like them for their appearance!

I like them for their appearance and also because I heard they have very good pet-like temperaments. I've got some eggs on the way ~ wish me luck hatching them!!

I have one! She is my baby.... renamed her when I found out she was a her

She's now named Roxie Hart. Right now she lives with a silkie...but as soon as the coop is done the silkie is moving out. I have some D'uccle eggs I'm popping in the bator, so hopefully one of those at least will yield a friend for her

I LOVE the D'uccles...... granted, they are more for looks it seems... but I just adore them

I did read somewhere (feathersite?) that they are even prettier after their first molt. Gonna take pics if I manage to hatch a few and see if that's true!!

Anybody have older millies that can confirm if that's true?

What colors of Millies do you all have?

My Mille is a partridge color and I love there personality, there so friendly and there funny at times, bobbing, jumping around and streaking across the yard like a torpedo.
It cracks me up!

Mille Fleur is a color, not a breed. Many different breeds can come in the mille fleur color. D'uccles also come in several different colors. After a mille fleur duccle molts, it tends to feather in with alot more white. On some birds, yes, it looks much better, and on others, sometimes they tend to be too white or the markings become too scattered.
