Hey! I got some Mile Fluer D'uccles from my Grandma in Oregon over the weekend. I had one a while back that I got from the hatchery in a feather footed batch. Can anyone tell me more about this breed? I got a trio and I will post pictures later today. I live in Utah, so it isn't the warmest right now, should they be okay in the cold weather without a light? They are adults. Updates later! Thanks!

Congrats on the D'Uccles. I think you'll love them. Mine do fine in the winter, but it doesn't get nearly as cold here as it does there in Utah. If they're adults, they should be fine, I would think. Enjoy!

My two little pullets are only 11 weeks old, but they have totally become my favorites out of all my chickens. I adore them!!

Even at such a young age, they are always the first to come running, always let me pick them up, chatter at me and are so sweet and gentle. If I wasn't attached to the rest of my bantams already, I would seriously consider having only d'Uccles. Mine spend the days outside and its pretty cold here, but they do still have a heat lamp in the coop if they need it. I would think your adults would be ok.

I hope you enjoy your new additions!!

d'Uccles are very sociable, and you will love them. Mine are doing just fine without additional heat here, and they have lots of hay and shavings to hunker down in. I just hatched out another, and have two more due in a week.

I'm very excited. They are my mom's favorite chickens out of my coop also. She calls them the paints.

I'm hoping to show them this spring at the Utah Fancy Poultry show and then breed them and get some eggs to incubate.
