Duck ate nails! Pleas help

Hello my baby quackers ate two nails. I took her to my vet that did a X-ray on Friday single picture. And said that he couldn’t do anything to get them out they were in her gizzard. I would need to find a specialist. I found another bet I took her to Saturday and he did X-rays double picture and he said they had moved to her Caecum or Cloaca cantvrember which one and wait and see if they would pass. Can anyone help I have very limited vets that handles ducks around me these are the only two. I’m worried about hardwear diese she isn’t wanting to eat but will drink. Will they pass or is there anything I can do? I found this online but I’m confused do I pick one medicine and give to her or all 3 pleas if anyone can help me

Other Natural Treatments for Hardware Disease​

• Metamucil capsule
• Echinacea capsule
• Papaya enzyme tablet

What you Do | Crush the tablet and stir it into the capsule powders. Mix in a small amount of water to get the consistency of pulpy orange juice.

Feed 2-3 cc's orally twice a day using a plastic syringe or eyedropper. This should help break down any fibers impacted with the metal and move any blockage as well as remove the toxic material, and provide some immune system support.

I have only seen something similar in a human. They swallowed razor blades that had to be surgically removed. It seems that a nail would not be able to make the tight turns of the small bowel. Bowel obstructions and perforations are very painful. If she continues to decline and a vet can't get them out, I can't help but to think euthanasia is the kindest option. I am extremely sorry and hope I am wrong.

Sorry to hear that she swallowed nails. This is what causes hardware disease and eventually she will decline if the nails don't pass. You can only hope for the best at this point. I would continue whatever treatment the vets recommended. But, yes, if her health declines it would be best to euthanize.
