My ducks are around 10 weeks old. Based on the sounds they make, I've assumed we have 4 ducks, and 1 drake. However, one of the females has stopped making the usual duck noises, and started making a sqeeky repetitive sound (like the sound a swing set makes when swinging back and forth...creeek, creeek...creeek, creeek.) it's not like the drake's sound, but not like the other female sounds either. She's also started pecking at the other ducks, and pushing them out of the way...especially the drake. She won't let him near their water. No one fights back. Is she just making it known that she's top duck, is she changing sex to a male (I've read this is possible,) or is she really a male?

I know nothing about ducks or drakes but, I think she might be a Drake or a really rude duck. Maybe she isn’t a duck and she is a goose? Don’t take this advice toO seriously like I said I‘m no expert.

One of my female ducks almost never quacks. She's definitely female (she lays eggs and I've seen them come out of her), and has been a mostly non quacking female for the last 5.5 years. She makes squeaky peepy noises.

Another one of my female ducks is quite bossy about resources. I just make sure to have multiple food and water sources available nearby so when she tells other ducks they aren't allowed to eat/drink out of HER bucket they can go to another.
