Duck Can't Get in Pool

I have steps for my ducks go get into their kiddie pool, all but one of the ducks are able to figure out the steps. I have no idea how to get him or her to figure it out. I've tried putting food one the steps.

What happens if you put the duck on the top step will it get into the pool?

That might work but my ducks don't really let me pick them up right now

Mine aren't crazy about me picking them up but sometimes I have to.

I think your duck will figure it out eventually. My son has 5 pekins all now water babies, but one initially didn't work put how to get in the pool (admittedly she is the smallest). She would sometimes go back into the coop alone for food and then seem to not know how to get out again. She would shout and shout until the drake would go into the coop so that she could follow him out. Some ducks are just ditzy!!
