Hi Friends,

as more and more of the former Spring Ducklings are starting to lay (they are not even five months old!) i started to look around for egg cartons and it turns out that there are none available for duck-eggs. Our girls smaller eggs would fit into a carton for XXL eggs, but the normal size eggs are 5cm (2") in diameter and don't fit into anything available.
If you sell eggs, how do you pack them for your customers?
Anybody knows where to buy duck egg cartons?

Hi Hillbilly, I tried finding them too and they are expensive! I thought if I bought them in bulk it would be a bargain but it's not. I just have friends save me cartons, especially the friends that want to get my eggs. I just don't close the lids and I always put the smaller eggs closer to the lid cover.

I purchase Jumbo Pulp Egg Cartons from www.eggcartons.com (Item # EGPJSJBL) and my duckies' eggs fit quite well. Not sure if you might consider them expensive ($46 for 50 that hold a dozen). They also have a great half-dozen carton just for duck eggs (Item # FHPBL-6DPU), which is wonderfully sturdy - and the eggs fit with PLENTY of room, but that one is a bit pricey ($44 for 50). I sell the eggs, so I gotta use new cartons or the State will bust down my door. ;)

Thank you very much, i just ordered a 25 pack. Fortunately here in WV small egg producers (less than 1000 eggs per week) have no such restrictions. We want to try selling our eggs on the local farmer's market and see if there's a demand.
