I’m a new duck owner. My ducks are reaching about 3 months. I know ducks start laying when they’re about 4-7 months old. I have males in with my female ducks so I know when I collect eggs they’ll most likely be fertile. So obviously I should collect them daily so they don’t start developing. But what is the process after I collect them. Do they have to be refrigerated so they don’t develop any further. Just need to know what to do. Any help would be great. I don’t plan on hatching duckling until another year or so. Thanks in advance!

If they are poop covered I'll wash them but if you leave them alone there is a "bloom" on the eggs put there in the laying process that is a barrier against bacteria getting into the pores of the eggs.

Also, if you do wash them be sure to use warm water. Apparently, cold water forces the dirt into the pores of the eggs.
