I have several Pekin eggs in the incubator and one of the duck eggs has pipped a full 5 days early!

Is this normal? Do you think the duckling will survive? The duckling is moving around in the egg a lot!

My KC duckling hatched with 2 days still to go on the incubator clock. Pogo is thriving!

Sounds like you have an eager beaver there ready to come out and play

It's been almost 8 hours now and the duckling is still in the egg. I've checked it and could hear it making noise in there still. So I guess everything's okay yet.

The humidity was a little low so I've added more warm water.

I only have limited experience, but I'm guessing it has internally pipped and its just a matter of time before the tap-tap-tapping of hatching begins.

This is when we have to play "the expectant father on the labour ward" role

Very well! The other eggs are late but they still seem to be developing. These are eggs that I had refrigerated before incubating.

Here's the baby I hatched. Hatched May 1st.
